Grant “Twiggy” Bake Signature CaliSons Sunglasses

With summer round the corner we thought it was most appropriate to review a pair of sunglasses. We did some careful research and we found about 3 different eyewear companies that we thought has some awesome styles to write about. Finally we narrowed it down to one company, CaliSons Eyewear from Venice Beach.

CaliSons History

We picked to review CaliSons Eyewear because they weren’t your ordinary sunglasses. They were actually made with a purpose and made with passion. They made this brand born on the idea of creating what was lost in Venice Beach as times changed; original products that the surfers, skaters and artist who helped build this city could be proud of.

The Twig: Edition

The Twig sunglasses were made in collaboration with Grant “Twiggy” Baker, 2014 Big Wave World Tour Champion of the year. These signature edition sunglasses were made with quality material and not just the plastic on a lot of other brands. And this is again what makes them stand out from so many competitors on the market.

Material

The Ryder TWIG Edition were designed special and are like non-other on the market. These are made featuring imported slab cut Italian Acetate, 2mm CR39 polarized UVA/B Lenses and hand finished Bamboo temples. All high quality material that will last through all the wear-and-tear during your summer adventures.

Can These Sunglasses Get Wet?

Unlike a lot of the competitors on the market, these CaliSons sunglasses are able to get wet and even submerged in water (they do not float) and will not get damaged. Every pair of their glasses are treated with a non-allergenic coating of harden protective finish. This finish protects the wood frame from water and moister damage and prevents the wood from drying out or cracking.

Final Thoughts

Overall, we were beyond impressed with the structure and craftsmanship with these sunglasses. CaliSons isn’t just making sunglasses, they are bringing back what was lost in the Venice Beach tradition.
